I have been working in NYC during weed and when I come on the weekend I am excited to see what has bloomed. This week it is the Nastys....and the intensity of the orange and deep red are hypnotizing. They will be eaten in my salad for lunch tomorrow...!

I have a lot of Nasturtium vines twirling in my garden. Their leaves are like lily pads. They are also delicious in my salad the way they add that sharp peppery hit.

CRIMSON ROSES

Today I sat in my garden and started to paint all the varieties of flowers in bloom. I don't know the name of this rose. The bush is abundant with many trailing branches that I am training to grow over an eyesore of a chain link fence. I love the deep velvet blood red color.

I did this painting before I did the one called Crimson Roses a couple of weeks ago. When I finished this I thought it was too much with the colorful vase and turquois ground - but now I like it.
