Wilmington Flume - plein air watercolor by Gretchen Kelly

 I had never heard of a flume before. This natural flume, where the formation of rocks create a pressurized flow in the rushing water as it passes through the narrow rock formation. I painted this en plein air in August when I was in the Adirondacks. This painting is one of a few that have been needing little finishing details, of which I have just gotten around to. I wanted a little more color into the foliage on the outside edges and more graphite marks. So here it is finally.
